• Overall adherence to safe practices and procedures of oneself and the teams aligned

• Hold self and their teams accountable for the achievement of safety goals
• Govern and Review safety metrics from time to time

Core Purpose of the Role:

• Independently perform protein purification and quality check (SDS-PAGE, SE-HPLC)
• Protein purification optimization and protocol development using AKTA systems as well as batch purification method
• Regularly prepare detailed records of experiments, reports and presentations
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines
• Help other team members in their work, troubleshooting
• Contribute in general lab cleanliness and equipment maintenance

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent theoretical knowledge of proteins, biochemistry and various methods of protein purification - affinity, ion exchange and size exclusion
• Solid working knowledge of making buffers and solutions, calculations of molarity, dilutions, measuring pH of solutions.
• Proven hands-on experience and technical expertise in using AKTA systems (pure, primePlus, explorer, start)
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and coordination of internal and external resources is essential.
• Strong organizational, detail-orientation, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
• Attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to work under strict timelines
• Ability to properly document results and observations in timely manner, make presentations.
• Personal attributes - organized, motivated, cooperative, friendly, respectful and communicative.

Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in analytical techniques - mass spectrometry, SE-HPLC, protein stability studies
• Knowledge of purification of antibodies and proteins from inclusion bodies
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with packing customized columns
• Ability to train other junior members in the team
