A successful candidate will review requests along with medical & financial reports against UW guidelines to assess the feasibility/eligibility of underwriting a case. He will closely liaison with Advisor and Underwriters over emails to address pending queries or missing information necessary from UW pre-assessment.Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze personal & medical reports along with insurance related financial data in order to assess insurance applications.
  • Preassessment of all product lines and benefits within established underwriting authority, service standards and productivity targets
  • Support underwriting team to MetLife\'s stated underwriting standards and principles to ensure profitable and reasonable risks are accepted.
  • Consults with Australia underwriters as required.
  • Maintain strong relationships with advisers/brokers, reinsurers, intermediaries, and service providers if required.
  • Work within Legal, Compliance and other regulatory frameworks
  • Promote MetLife\'s values to external clients and customers.
  • Perform other appropriate tasks as designated by Underwriting Management
  • Proactively manage all applications by engaging regularly with underwriters, advisers & adviser support staff
  • Deliver and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills when engaging with internal / external stakeholders
  • Prompt & efficient communication with Internal/External customers/advisors with appropriate documentation
  • Seek out innovative and creative ways to improve MetLife\'s process and procedures.
  • Support in execution of process improvements
  • Support with reporting responsibilities
  • Researching and resolving complex issues
  • Responsible for maintaining metrics
Education, Technical Skills & Other Critical RequirementEducation
  • Bachelor\'s degree (Any Stream) or diploma with a minimum of 15 years of education (Candidates with B.Tech, MBA, BCA, or with any technical education would not be required)
Experience(In Years)
  • Mandatory
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Underwriting domain across retail or group
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an IC role in a metric driven environment
  • Preferred
  • Experience in product lines (Life, Trauma cover, Total & Permanent Disability, Income Protection Insurance)
Technical Skills
  • Good Computer navigation skills
  • Good knowledge of complete MS Office suite
  • Good typing speed 90% accuracy with 30 words per min
  • Analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Good Communication skills - Should be able to speak effectively, read, interpret business documents. Good verbal/written communication
  • Data gathering ability/ Eye for detail
  • Adaptability to change
  • Ability to work on routine/standardized transactions
  • Self disciplined and result oriented
  • Ability to multi task
  • Self -motivated with excellent time management skills
