Working with us means working with the latest technologies and groundbreaking, sustainable innovations.Join us on our journey for a better tomorrow.Your role for Team Leader - Finite Element Analysis (FEA)With an objective to focus and strengthen the FEA competence, we are now looking for dynamic, result-oriented Team Leader - FEA.Purpose / MissionYour mission will be to guide & develop a strong FEA team to support the product development with structural and dynamic simulations for different divisions and product companies within Atlas Copco. Additionally, you are responsible for developing the FEA competence domain in Atlas Copco.You remain up to date with the last developments in the field of structural and dynamic simulations. You identify opportunities to improve and/or expand our calculation models and tools. And together with your colleagues you introduce these improvements in our processes worldwide and develop the structural and dynamic simulations in Atlas Copco.As Team Leader - FEA, you need to plan and monitor project execution and resolve escalated issues both internally and externally with the objective of delivering projects within the estimated time, cost, and quality standards. Within the limits of GECIA's structure, processes, and guidelines.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Focus

  • Timely execution of the projects for respective business area and division assigned to you.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical discussions, ensuring customer needs are met with precision and clarity.
  • Proactively seek feedback to enhance service quality and identify new opportunities for customer engagement.
  • Represent the FEA team in technical reviews, presentations, and discussions, showcasing the team's capabilities and achievements.
People Focus
  • Mentor, coach, and inspire team members to achieve professional growth and technical mastery. Develop the teams based on the Skills & Competence matrix,
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and teamwork,
  • Set clear performance goals and development plans for the team, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating commitment, integrity, and a passion for excellence.
Innovation & Technology Development:
  • Lead the development of advanced simulation methodologies, tools, and techniques to enhance FEA capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to explore new ideas and integrate emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive research and development projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices to maintain technical excellence.
Operational Excellence
  • Create, Develop & Maintain a Resource Planning Mechanism to deliver optimum resource utilization
  • Ensure the Costs per hour remains as targeted by the Group Management
  • First time right is very important KPI for this role
  • Define different automation projects, Develop and implement efficient workflows, processes, and tools to optimize team performance.
To succeed, you will needExperience Requirement:
  • M.Tech/ M.E. in Mechanical engineering stream with minimum of 12+ years of experience in FEA.
  • Experience of leading FEA team that work in a global environment
  • First-hand experience of leading/working on FEA projects
Knowledge Requirement:
  • An in-depth knowledge of FEA, Applied Mechanics, Dynamics of structure.
  • Hands on experience in Hypermesh\HyperView\Simlab and Nastran\Optistruct\Ansys are a must and he\she needs to be a dependable resource to the team in these areas.
  • Ability to convert problem statements into FEA model strategy definition and results into solutions is essential.
  • Ability to cope with change, make decisions and act confidently with risk and uncertainties.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Programming skills and experience on MBE/rotor dynamics/multibody dynamics/Acoustics is an added advantage.
