Your Role
Report
• Hierarchically to the Engineering Manager
Mission
• Project responsible for the Industrial Air Chakan products - Air Compressors driven by electrical motors.
• Develop and innovative, modular, reliable & cost efficient platforms, within targeted budget, performances & deadlines, using Lean engineering principals.
• To lead a team of GECIA resources & lead and guide Prototype Manufacturing team
Targets 2024-2025
• To design and qualify related module and have a reliable product.
• To work towards defined time plan on the projects as defined in PSM, striving for best performance and ease of assembly in manufacturing, with products providing a significant Quality improvement, energy or performance efficiency, as well as cost leadership.
• To work towards tasks timelines defined in MS project and adhere to the same, In case of deviation, escalate to Engineering manager's
• To work towards Lean Engineering working, being On-Time-in-Full, with a customer centric approach (Voice of the Customer).
• To work towards safety and reliability of products with an innovative and environmentally friendly solutions
Main responsibilities
• Drive a Quality Pro-active design process
• Implement Modular design concepts and maximize use of standard components and systems to achieve the reliability, to track and report on weekly project team meetings (% standardization achieved / project)
• Innovation in the products by means of getting in new technologies and challenging the present scenario's
• 3D and modular BOMs to achieve 99% correctness of bill of materials and parts list
• Make sure the design of components, drawings and bill of material is correct before release for next phase - Concept " Right for me" / First time right
• Design must take in account the Manufacturing constrains, like by using Poka-Yoke to avoid wrong assembly
• Use of staking tools for tolerance to ensure proper fitment of parts
• Ensure all process and system followed to make the product and documentation in line with prescribed procedures.
• By changing only few modules, the complete solution is easier to design and to test, which strive for a higher reliability
• Ensure complete documentation to make Design preview / design review, qualification review first time right, if corrective actions are required, to be followed up with action list with defined time plan
• Take care of a Superior Quality experience from customer,
• like with Aesthetic, which should lead the design towards adapted technological choice, like proper wire routing, maintaining electrical safety.
• like with look & ergonomics, which should influence the shape and accessories.
• Use of design check list in line with division, and improve them by lesson learnt. Use and develop Bizagi flow charts for different component designs
• Implement a PDCA process with the experience block concept, to avoid the deeming wheel to roll back.
• Lead a Quality Reactive design process
• Monitor New products launched for regular updates on performance and quality issues, faster reactivity time in case of issues reported
• Organize a very quick solution to customer warranty issues on design, especially on new products launch phase.
• Use a formalized process to identify clearly the claims 5WH, then the root cause with 5 why, and use Freeplane as fishbone solution mapping.
• Make a special effort on the execution of the corrective action to be on-time.
• Measure the reactivity by claim category ABC & find ways to improve the solution lead-time.
• On-Time Delivery, by a Best in class Project Management
• Follow rigor use of project management tools tasks defined, deviation if any to be highlighted.
• Follow design tasks to develop the project
• Estimate the time task and resource needs
• Be a active participant on Obeya daily project team meeting, with visual tracking and update status and report deviation if any
• Lean: chase any of the 7 wastes in Engineering
• Ensure a Time-To-Market always shorter, ahead of competition.
• Lowest cost - Drive the Cost reduction process - CC7
• by providing ideas of cost improvements
• The cost benefit from standardization, so a constrain in the creation of new parts must be in place, like remove 2 old parts for 1 new created.
• Formalize the Design Knowledge Base of the company, using Visual concept
• Implement the lesson learnt on new project
• Create a Time-To-Technology environment.
• Making sure BOMs are 99% correct in system, Modular concept
• Contribute to the feasibility study of new project ideas.
• Understand how to contribute to the customer sustainability - electricity consumption reduction.

To succeed, you will need
Experience / Educational requirements
• Electrical Engineer
• Effective leader with > 8-10 years of design and development related to electrical parts from related manufacturing industries like Air compressors, Diesel engines, Light towers, Generators etc.
• Technical knowledge on Wiring harness, circuit logic development, controllers, programming on controllers, electric panel is a must, including all local & international related norms / regulations.
• Experience of Electronic systems development using any simulations tools will be an added advantage
• Strong theoretical knowledge on electrical components selection and calculations
• Able to write deep technical document for components testing and qualification
• Good understanding of the supplier processes and testing, and of the Lean assembly concept, able to design according to manufacturing constrains, like with Poka-Yoke.
• Very good know-how of the industrial business sector, and market technology trends
• A clear vision and ability to achieve results from action plans
• Knowledge Quality concept (FMEA, MTBF ...), and Safety requirements
• Fluent in English
• Use of IT tools like CAD, ERP (BPCS), MS-Excel, MS-Project, SharePoint
• Lean and Modular Engineering concept knowledge
