In the Connected Mobility Business Unit, we are at the forefront of the connected car movement. In this role you will have the opportunity to lead the design engineering group who works on infotainment solutions from concept to production. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and coach the team of mechanical designers with respect to product development and processes. Works with customers, product manager, sales & other cross functional teams to develop products that meets the voice of customer. Take care of complete team\'s developmental actions, career growth, responsible for conducting performance reviews, compensation reviews. Interact with internal teams to coordinate and execute multiple projects at the same time Lead engineering efforts to meet customer and manufacturing requirements across the team Full design cycle responsibility including concept generations, detailed engineering models, drawings, design reviews. Should possess strong knowledge on Tolerance analysis, GD&T (advanced levels) and Design knowledge Facilitate and conduct conceptual reviews, DFM / DFA reviews, DFMEA reviews, Design reviews etc. Responsible for self-planning of work based on organizational, entity priorities Understand, aim, and achieve organization / department /self-goals. Train the team on PBM, exhibit & implement the learnings. Ensure and encourage Team participation in Knowledge sharing on Technologies and Products. Responsible for design changes (ECR\'s and ECN\'s) On a need basis leads design efforts in developing new media modules, smart chargers, and wireless charging products in automotive environment. Follow all Product Development Phases required to bring concepts into production. Responds to questions/requests in a timely manner, problem solving and troubleshooting in the reliability lab, over the phone or at the customer location. Follows all product development steps, supplies tooling groups with necessary drawings for quoting and tool build. Responsible for follow-up, documentation, publishing and expediting all action items of a NPD Produces suitable manufacturing drawings that follow the Molex drawing standards Supports current product with continuous improvement and supports resolution of customer issues. Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) Encourage team for Innovative ideas / product suggestion. EDUCATION: Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering or higher - Mechanical, Industrial Production WORK EXPERIENCE: 7 or more years of design and product development experience 2 or more years of Team leading experience SKILLS & ABILITIES: Experience in leading, building team and training others. Experience in Product Design & Development (knowledge of complete PDP, PLM cycle) Independently leading design efforts throughout the project. Experience designing products with Plastic, PCB and Plated components NX CAD experience, strong and diverse technical skills Experience with infotainment modules, Wireless chargers and electronic components would be an added advantage Ability to develop and meet project schedules, along with contingency plans Demonstrated ability to identify and develop future needs Demonstrated ability to analyze information and solve problems Demonstrated ability to maintain collaboration, smooth teamwork and communication. Knowledge of GD&T (advanced levels), tolerance studies, statistical analysis, FEA & DFMEA. FEA experience including thermal modeling Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA) Experience Problem solving skills using systematic tools (8D, fishbone, cause/effect diagrams) Knowledge of the Product development process Effective oral and written communication skills Strong computer skills experience with spreadsheets, presentation and Microsoft Office Ability to explain complex technical concepts to others Project management experience
