Job Overview
Mount Sinai Mission School is seeking a dedicated and experienced English and Social Studies Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, committed to student success, and able to create an engaging learning environment. This position involves teaching English and Social Studies to secondary school students, fostering a love for language and history, and helping students develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
#### Key Responsibilities
•Teaching and Instruction:•
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in English and Social Studies.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
- Teach the full range of learning areas in English, including literature, grammar, and writing skills.
- Instruct Social Studies, covering history, geography, civics, and other relevant subjects.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, including discussions, group work, and multimedia presentations to engage students.
•Assessment and Evaluation:•
- Prepare and administer assessments to evaluate students' progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
•Classroom Management:•
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's policies and disciplinary systems.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all students.
•Professional Development:•
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Stay updated with the latest educational research and best practices in teaching English and Social Studies.
•Collaboration and Communication:•
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about students' progress and any concerns.
- Participate in school meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
•Extra-curricular Activities:•
- Encourage and support students in participating in extra-curricular activities related to English and Social Studies, such as debate clubs, history fairs, and literature circles.
- Supervise and mentor students during these activities.
#### Qualifications
•Education:•
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Social Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
•Experience:•
- Proven experience teaching English and/or Social Studies at the secondary school level.
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of students.
•Skills:•
- Strong knowledge of English and Social Studies curricula.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the use of technology for educational purposes.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
•Certifications:•
- Valid teaching certification for the relevant subject areas.

Pay: ?14,000.00 - ?15,500.00 per month
