Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Tax Manager - Global Tax Reporting to join our Global Tax Reporting team. As a Tax Manager in the Global Tax Reporting group, you will be part of a team managing Caterpillars non-US direct tax compliance processes and controls for over 100 entities in multiple tax jurisdictions. This process and governance-related role entails frequent interactions with external service providers, Corporate Accounting and Global Tax managers and directors. The experienced professional utilizes organizational skills, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and high-level of accountability to ensure that tax reporting obligations are fully compliant with tax laws and regulations and Caterpillar protocols, and in assists with any tax reporting related initiatives. The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore, KA-India What you will do Job Roles and Responsibilities
  • Proactively collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Global Tax managers and external service providers to drive preparation and timely filing of local country income tax returns and transfer pricing documentation in Asia-Pacific region and certain EAME countries in line with Caterpillar governance protocols.
  • Contribute to implementation of a new global process for OECD Pillar 2 compliance, including supervising direct reports and reviewing reporting obligations.
  • Champion Caterpillars global use of service provider tool for non-US direct tax, including providing internal training as required.
  • Maintain Reporting Group related content in Global Tax SharePoint site.
  • Manage non-US legal entity information in order to support Country by Country Reporting and other tax reporting initiatives.
  • Lead or support projects related to tax reporting process improvements, enhanced governance, or other initiatives.
What you will have
  • The position typically requires a bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business-related degree and 12-13years with a 7+ years of relevant and progressively responsible finance experience.
  • Understanding of finance and business processes. Experience of non-US direct tax compliance and reporting processes, principles and deliverables is an added strength.
  • Strong multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills, accountability, and good judgment
  • Strong process management and improvement skills
  • Collaborative, proactive, team-oriented personality with the ability to build and foster relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of M365 and familiarity with SharePoint
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written. Other languages are an added strength.

  • Planning, Tactical & Strategic: Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of global compliance obligations; ensures attention to the detail and dependencies of multiple tax areas/obligations; develops, communicates, and monitors tactical plans to effectively manage team.
  • Tax Operations: Knowledge of tax practices and regulations; ability to manage preparation and filing of local tax returns; follows tax accounting and compliance practices and explains the rationale behind these practices.
