• Accomplishes tax management objectives by recruiting, training, assigning, coaching, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures for India based tax team
• Responsible for detailed review of fuel, excise, business personal property, sales and use tax and real property related accounting and reporting as assigned
• Maintain fuel, excise and property tax compliance calendar and ensure achievement of all deadlines
• Analyze and improve procedures by developing and streamlining processes and worksheets for calculation of taxes due
• Investigate and communicate issues to U.S. management team related to accounting data to ensure accurate collection and accounting for tax accruals and related ledger activity
• Research federal, state and local tax laws to ensure company compliance with current and changing statutes and regulations, prepare memorandums for management review
• Confirms financial status by monitoring liabilities and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices
• Assist with audit procedures for all federal, state and local audits as assigned
• Conform and adhere to internal controls over tax accounting procedures as set forth by upper management
• Communicate frequently with U.S. management team, assist in strategic planning efforts in respect to assigned areas

Experience needed to succeed:

• 10+ years of Indirect tax reporting, accounting and reconciliation experience in a corporate environment
• Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Advanced Excel skills (i.e. v-lookups, sumifs, pivot tables)
• Familiarity with Power BI a huge plus
• Ability to multi-task and complete projects within specific deadlines
• Strong computer, presentation and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
