Job Description


1. Tax Compliance: Ensuring that the company complies with all tax laws and regulations, including the Income Tax Act, Goods and Services Tax (GST), and other relevant legislation. This involves preparing and filing tax returns, managing tax payments, and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
2. Filing Returns: Prepare and file GST (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, & TDS returns on time to ensure compliance with statutory deadlines.
3. Payment of Taxes: Ensure timely payment of GST / TDS dues to avoid penalties and interest charges.
4. Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile GST returns with accounting records, sales, and purchase registers to identify and rectify discrepancies. For TDS , reconciliation with payment and entries ( for TDS & Non TDS part as per TAX Audit requirement.5.GST Knowledge/ Exposure:

  • Interpretation of Laws: Provide guidance on the interpretation of GST laws, rules, and notifications. Advise on the applicability of GST on various transactions, including goods, services, and imports/exports.
  • Structuring Transactions: Assist in structuring transactions to optimize GST efficiency, including advising on the best practices for input tax credit (ITC) claims and exemptions.
6. Input Tax Credit (ITC) Management:Eligibility and Documentation: Ensure proper documentation to support ITC claims and verify that the ITC claimed is eligible and in accordance with GST rules.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile ITC between GSTR-2A/2B and purchase records to ensure accurate claim amounts. Any excess PR or 2A/2B to be followed up next month with proper mail communication to all stake holders
1. All Types of Tax Audits and Assessments:
  • Preparation: Prepare for GST audits by gathering and organizing required documents and records.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with GST Tax consultants during audits, respond to queries, and address any issues or discrepancies raised and resolve with closure within statutory time frame.
2. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
  • Maintaining Records: Ensure that all GST-related documentation, such as invoices, challans, and correspondence with tax authorities, is accurately maintained and readily accessible.
  • Audit Trail: Maintain an audit trail for all GST transactions to support compliance and facilitate audits.
3.Reporting and Analysis:
  • Internal Reports: Prepare internal reports on GST compliance status, ITC utilization, and potential risks for management review.
  • Analysis: Analyze GST-related data to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for improvement in the companys GST processes.
4.Liaison with Tax Authorities:
  • Correspondence: Act as the point of contact between the company and GST authorities, handling all communications and resolving any issues related to GST / TDS / Income Tax compliance.
5.Consulting on Business Strategies:1. Stakeholder Communication: Communicating with internal stakeholders (like Branches and Management) and external parties (such as tax consultants and legal advisors) to ensure that all tax matters are handled effectively.
2. Regulatory Updates: Staying updated with changes in tax laws and regulations and assessing their impact on the company. This may involve attending seminars, workshops, and reviewing relevant publications.
