In this role you will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals.KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

• Liaison with other engineering team staff, as required.
• Liaison with product marketing, customer support staff, and Wabtec end customers, as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo supervisory responsibilities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work collaboratively within the Agile Scrum team.
• Bring best practice test engineering to the team\xe2\x80\x99s work.
• Analyse system testing needs, plan, design, create, execute and maintain system test solutions.
• Help the team identify priority issues, assist them to find the problem and deliver a solution.
• Develop and maintain automated tests in our automation testing framework.
• Contribute towards continuous improvement of testing practices.
• Liaise with other engineering team members (digital design, RF engineering, software and network management products).
• Other system testing activities, as required.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute towards improving the Wabtec Networks system development process and procedures, as required.
• Apply Wabtec quality assurance practices.
• Provide necessary system testing expertise on other projects, as required.
• Participate in project development reviews, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor\'s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer/ Electronic Engineering.
• Experience with software development and hands on coding in a variety of high level programming languages and embedded platform and processors.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIESEssential:

• An understanding of RF, digital electronics and electronics engineering
• Knowledge of networking protocols and experience with the associated test equipment.
• Experience as a systems tester.
• Knowledge of good software development and testing practices.
• Strong skills in diagnosing problems, trouble shooting and reporting relevant data.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, outspoken.
• Good development/scripting skills in common languages like Python, MS SQL, C++, etc
• Must demonstrate an understanding of IP networking, protocols such as HTTP and HTTPS, firewalls, routers, etc
• Experience in Agile Scrum, proven ability to contribute to team work.
• Linux, and Android experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Desirable:

• Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer/ Electronic Engineering.
• At least 2+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with software Development, test and validation
• Source Control and Issue Tracking tools (for example GIT, JIRA).
• Experience with test automation scripts and frameworks.
• Understanding of digital electronics and wireless technologies.
• ISTQB and/or Agile Testing (ICP-TST) certification
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Experience with communication protocols (RS232/485, CAN Bus, TCP/IP) and wireless technologies (Bluetooth, WIFI).
• Experience with GPS and GPS tracking in surveying or telematic applications, including packet radio telemetry.
• Knowledge of mining methods and/or vehicle types.
• Experience in using Protocol Analyzers, Ethernet Analyzers, Bit Error Rate testers and other telecommunications and networking test equipment.
