Baker Hughes is seeking a talented and motivated System Integrator Lead Design Engineer. As part of the Shaft Line Integration & Compressors / Turboexpanders Operability team, the candidate will work in two main areas:
Shaft Line Integration: responsible for the shaft line integration of mechanical drive and power generation applications, they will be responsible of the shaft line configuration and selection of the fixed & variable speed gear boxes, turning gear systems, starting systems, clutches, couplings & coupling guards, torsional analysis and alignment specs for BH TPS projects.
Compressors and Turboexpanders Operability: he/she will be responsible for ensuring Control Philosophy conceptual study, Machine Operability requirement for control, Plant modelling and machine operation optimization through System Dynamic Simulation for BH projects.
As a System Integrator Lead Design Engineer, you will be responsible for;
• Being responsible for Shaft line integration and operability disciplines. In this role he/she will be involved in the requisition activity, they will support the standardization of the shaft line components, the starting system architecture definition in synergy with Product Strategies, including the definition of development paths, in collaboration with Product Management Organization.
• Enhancing and expanding network with both National and International Universities &Research Institutes will be crucial to amplify businesses capabilities and unleash new ideas and innovative approaches.
• Being responsible to enhance & expand connections with allied functions such as Project Engineering, Plants and Modules teams, covering the fields of System Engineering, Plant Dynamic Modelling and Simulations
• Connecting with regional commercial hubs and Customer Engineering group (both EPC and final Customers) to understand customer needs and nurture NPI commercialization supporting them in selecting latest available technologies, determine project feasibility, overall architecture and product interfaces for a strong product offering.
• Providing leadership during the project review to ensure that all technical risk points and risk mitigations are properly incorporated in the development of the scope, cost and proposal.
• Interpreting the customer technical specification, and ensure the conceptual process gas system design, providing risk mitigation plan, implement customized features, develop operability studies, safety requirements and relevant control requirements through plant modelling and its dynamic simulation study.
• Leading and coordinating with interfacing organizations such as Manufacturing, Sourcing, Services, and Regional hubs, effectively communicate technical and financial aspects of team activities vertically and horizontally in the organization
Required Qualifications:
• Have a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
• Have minimum 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas Engineering Design Department.
• Have in-depth knowledge of Oil & Gas products such as Compressors and Turboexpanders, Auxiliaries, Shaft line components, Process Engineering and Control Logic.
• Have experience with Unisim and Ansys FEA
• Have Site experience such as plant startup support and issue resolution
• Have software skills such as Python and VB coding
• Be able to understand applicability of Data analytics/Machine Learning to role
• Have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Be self-motivated with problem solving skills.
