Job Title:System Analyst (Night Shift):The System Analyst (Night Shift) is responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of IT systems during non-business hours. This role involves proactive system monitoring, incident management, user support, and routine maintenance tasks to ensure the seamless operation of IT infrastructure outside of regular business hours.Key Responsibilities:
System Monitoring and Maintenance:
Continuously monitor the performance, availability, and security of IT systems, including servers, networks, and applications.
Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patch management, and backups.
Ensure systems are running optimally and troubleshoot any performance issues.
Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
Quickly respond to system alerts and incidents to minimize downtime and disruption.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by users or detected through monitoring tools.
Escalate complex issues to senior staff or other departments when necessary, ensuring proper follow-up and resolution.
User Support:
Provide technical support to users working the night shift, addressing their IT-related issues promptly.
Assist users with system access, software applications, and other IT-related inquiries.
Security Management:
Monitor for security threats and vulnerabilities, taking immediate action to protect systems.
Implement security protocols and respond to security incidents following established procedures.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of incidents, actions taken, and system changes.
Prepare detailed shift reports for day shift teams to ensure continuity and effective handover.
Document procedures and best practices for night shift operations.
System Enhancements and Upgrades:
Assist in planning and executing system upgrades and enhancements during off-peak hours.
Test new systems, applications, and configurations before deployment to the production environment.
Compliance and Best Practices:
Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies, standards, and best practices.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve night shift operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in system administration for both Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols.
Experience with database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
Familiarity with IT security practices, tools, and incident response.
Analytical Skills:
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to analyze system logs, performance data, and identify root causes of issues.
Communication Skills:
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to document technical information clearly and concisely.
Experience:
Previous experience in a system analyst or similar IT role.
Experience working night shifts or in 24/7 operations is preferred.
