As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for installation, configuration, operations and `maintenance of hardware and operating system of servers, storage, and hypervisors infrastructure in an on-premise private cloud environment.Job Responsibilities:

  • Installation, operations, and maintenance of hardware for servers, and storage in datacentre racks.
  • Plan and deliver racking, stacking, and cabling of hardware in datacentre
  • Collaborate with Smart-Hands support to perform datacentre maintenance activities.
  • Installation, configuration, and OAM of server operating system Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Maintain console access to all servers and storage through iLO, and serial ports.
  • Perform regular health checks of hardware and OS, resources, and processes. Ensure monitoring of system logs, scheduled jobs, and backups.
  • Apply OS patches and maintain OS versions across the on-prem environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, OS and Applications such as DNS, NTP, AD, Zabbix
  • Prepare MOP for installation procedures and configuration changes, CR to seek change approval, and RCA for issues.
  • Monitor storage capacity, and perform preventive audits.
  • Troubleshoot, repair server hardware issues related to disks, memory, motherboard, power supply. Follow supplier RMA process for timely replacement of hardware parts.
  • Manage performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
  • Deploy and manage ESXi VMs using vCentre and vSphere
  • VMware vCentre, OVM Manager, OLVM Manager
  • Develop automation for monitoring, provisioning, and system administration scripts.
  • Planning and design of hardware, hypervisor, and OS for new projects, upgrades, and migration.
Candidate should possess:
  • Expertise in design and administration of Linux applications such as DNS Bind, PowerDNS, Recursor, Forwarders, LDAP, Windows AD, NTP
  • Extensive understanding of Linux, including RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux
  • Experience with Perl, Python, or Shell scripting.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnosis of HP servers using iLO and serial console ports.
  • Basic troubleshooting and diagnosis of network equipment
  • Linux server administration activities - Linux server installation, LVM creation, file system management, user management, providing sudo access, performance monitoring, troubleshooting boot issues, Linux server patching and hardening
  • Expertise in Server and Storage Hardware:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience of Linux server administration, ESXi, and VMware suite.
  • Linux, VMware certification would be preferred
