About Us: At Zrafted, we pride ourselves on our cutting-edge technology infrastructure and our commitment to excellence. We are currently looking for a temporary IT Specialist to assist us with server upgrades and file system cleanup projects. : We are seeking a skilled IT Specialist to perform critical server upgrades and ensure the cleanliness and efficiency of our file systems. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional with extensive experience in managing and upgrading Windows Servers and Distributed File Systems (DFS). Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hands-on upgrades of approximately 55 Windows Servers to the 2022 version, including in-place upgrades and migration or new install depending on the application type running on the server.
- Assess and understand the applications hosted on the servers to ensure a seamless OS upgrade with minimal downtime and maintained data integrity.
- Manage data within DFS, classifying and archiving as necessary to ensure clean mapped drives for end users with active data only.
- Apply expertise in DFS and NTFS permissions to enact corrective permissions throughout the project\'s duration.
- Utilize a strong understanding of Active Directory (AD) Groups, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and nested user/group structures to manage and clean up the DFS system.
- Utilize critical analytical skills to evaluate and troubleshoot any service impact due to system changes.
- Demonstrate initiative and willingness to support users beyond basic requirements.
- Document all server upgrade processes meticulously, including step-by-step instructions and fallback plans.
- Experience with Linux OS will be considered an added advantage.
- Proven experience with Windows Server management and upgrades.
- In-depth knowledge of Distributed File Systems and NTFS permissions.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, and user/group permissions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent documentation abilities.
- Previous experience with Linux OS is preferred.
