Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement training programs for swimmers of various levels (beginner to advanced).

2. Conduct swimming lessons, practices, and clinics.

3. Analyze swimmers' techniques and provide constructive feedback.

4. Design and lead strength and conditioning programs.

5. Plan and attend swim meets, competitions, and events.

6. Collaborate with other coaches to develop team strategies.

7. Foster a positive, supportive team environment.

8. Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and staff.

9. Maintain accurate records of swimmer progress and attendance.

10. Stay updated on swimming techniques, trends, and safety protocols.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.

2. ASCA (American Swimming Coaches Association) certification or equivalent.

3. 2+ years of coaching experience (age group/competitive swimming).

4. Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, stroke mechanics, and training methods.

5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

6. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

7. First Aid/CPR certification.

Desirable Qualities:

1. Experience with swim meet management software.

2. Familiarity with video analysis tools.

3. Certification in strength and conditioning (e.g., CSCS).

4. Experience coaching diverse age groups and skill levels.

5. Strong organizational and time management skills.

1. Manage team administration (e.g., scheduling, travel arrangements).

2. Develop and implement swim camps/clinics.

3. Collaborate with other sports departments.
