The Amazon Device OS team is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to drive world class quality in the software platform that makes a one of a kind experience today, and will enable exciting new capabilities tomorrow. Key job responsibilities The successful candidate will be obsessed with quality improvement and automating tests for regression and new features. Responsibilities include understanding customer use cases, diving deep into the software development, and developing QA approaches to measure confidence in the product. You will work directly with product development teams, test automation development engineers, and peer QA teams to iteratively improve our software development process. As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will join the team of hands-on and passionate SQA professionals developing innovative consumer-centric testing solutions. In this role, you will: . Develop test plans and test cases . Develop Automation test harness and automate tests using internal and open source tools & infrastructure . Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through to a resolution . Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process . Engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative consumer products. . Demonstrate continuous search for better and more efficient test solutions, and an instinct for continuous invention and innovation . Have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team\'s speed, quality and efficiency. . We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Bangalore, KA, IND BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience - Experience in manual testing - Experience in automation testing - Experience scripting or coding - Experience developing high quality test plans, test designs, test strategies, and test execution - Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects - 4+ years of relevant experience in QA testing and debugging - Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Embedded/EE or similar technical field - 3+ years of experience in automation development and testing using Python, experience in automating the test cases for embedded software. - Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OOPs, and complexity analysis - Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Master\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field - 5+ years of relevant industry experience in wireless connectivity in either WiFi, BT, BLE, Zigbee or other Smart home technologies - Knowledge of all the layers of the OSI model, TCP/IP, Socket programming - Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience developing product test harnesses - Experience with Android, iOS or other mobile application development or testing - Hands-on experience in either Python, Perl, Java, C/C++ - Experience working cross-functionally with different stakeholders including development and business teams
