Job Summary :
The Surveyor is responsible for conducting field surveys, measurements, and data collection to ensure accurate planning, design, and implementation of projects. This role involves using advanced surveying tools, techniques, and software to map, analyze, and provide critical data for construction, development, or infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities :
• Field Surveys and Data Collection :
• Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys using GPS, total stations, and other modern surveying equipment.
• Collect precise measurements of land, structures, and geographic features.
• Mapping and Documentation :
• Prepare detailed maps, sketches, and reports from collected survey data.
• Use CAD and GIS software to process and present survey findings.
• Stakeholder Coordination :
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to interpret survey results and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Communicate findings effectively to relevant stakeholders.
• Compliance and Standards :
• Ensure surveys comply with local, national, and international standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of surveys conducted.
• Equipment Maintenance :
• Calibrate and maintain surveying instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of tools and equipment.
• Problem-Solving :
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or challenges during the surveying process.
• Provide solutions to technical issues encountered in the field.
Skills and Qualifications :
• Education : Diploma/Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Experience : 2-3 years of experience in land or construction surveying (entry-level acceptable for junior positions).
• Technical Skills :
• Proficiency in GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS software, and surveying tools like Leica, Trimble, etc.
• Knowledge : Understanding of land laws, zoning regulations, and project development processes.
• Soft Skills :
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical Requirements :
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Capability to walk, climb, and operate in rugged terrains.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :
• Accuracy and reliability of survey data.
• Timeliness in completing surveys and delivering results.
• Maintenance of equipment and compliance with safety protocols.
