Collaborates with suppliers to establish productive work relationship and drive improvements to ensure on timely delivery of conforming products.Essential Roles and Responsibilities -

  • Perform supplier risk analysis, process audit and execute PPAP, DFM, PFMEA, PCPs for machining, plastics, casting, sheet metal, molded, tool and electronic parts.
  • Performs QN management, drive RRCA, problem solving, recommends CA/PA for systematic supplier processes & product piece parts
  • Bringing the voice of manufacturing into the design process to guide the design of components for efficient processing through molding and assembly processes.
  • Providing technical solutions and leading engineering sub-contractors in process design, layout, and construction of new molding equipment
  • Seeking out, investigating, trialing, evaluating new plastics equipment technologies and focusing on non-standard solutions and equipment that has not been used in production environments to deliver innovative solutions to enable product programs
  • Understanding part appearance standards, flow down with suppliers and collaborating with engineering and manufacturing quality as needed to improve appearance standards
  • Using a data-based approach to optimize molding processes / tooling process to reach quality and production requirements.
  • Developing and executing production process validation criteria using standardized metrics
  • Manages supplier Quality performance for suppliers through prevention, monitoring / escalation processes
  • Proactively supports global supplier programs and ensure supplier is capable to meet all contract requirements including resourcing gate & APQP / PPAP acceptance
Desired Characteristics / Knowledge -
  • Bachelors\' degree in in Mechanical / industrial / die- tool Engineering or similar, evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent
  • 15+ years of hands-on experience with molding / casting / forging / glass / tooling supplier development
  • Detailed understanding of molding process variables and their impact on throughput, quality, and yield rate
  • Must have working knowledge of equipment design, mold design, controls, set up and validation
  • Understanding of Design for Assembly (DFM), facility design principles, and lean manufacturing techniques
  • Knowledge of QMS requirements, Supplier Quality Procedures, performance monitoring, audits and action tracking.
  • New parts development, qualification & controlling, APQP / PPAP / MPR / MFP / ZDP / CORE
  • Knowledge of RRCA, Analytical Problem Solving, Collaboration with sourcing, material, Production to faster problem solving.
  • Previous experience in handling international suppliers (preferred)
  • Strong in communication, capable to communicate with foreign stakeholders, shall be highly energetic and passionate with positive attitude.
  • Able to explain clearly business drivers and organizational objectives to team
  • Ability to manage conflicts and effectively collaborate for getting results
  • Proficient in basic and field related software CATIA, 3D viewer, CAE (Moldflow analysis)
  • In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection.
  • Possess demonstrable leadership abilities; Previous experience managing safety critical parts.
  • Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Excellent team building skills in dealing with suppliers, peers, and other functional areas.
  • Strong technical writing ability and an ability to explain complex issues in a concise and plain manner. Must be familiar with SPC and data analysis.
