We are seeking a skilled Tamil subtitle transcribers who can deliver and contribute to various video projects. For the current role, the subtitle transcriber must be able to create Tamil subtitles by listening to the video content in an efficient and accurate way which is easily understandable to the audience.
1. Accuracy of Transcription
• Primary Goal : Ensure that the spoken Tamil content is accurately transcribed into Tamil subtitles.
• Tasks :
• Transcribe the spoken content exactly as it is, ensuring that all words, phrases, and nuances are captured.
• Avoid missing out on important dialogues, terms, or phrases (especially slang or regional dialects).
• Accurately represent the speaker's tone and emotions (e.g., sarcasm, humor, etc.) through the subtitles.
• KPIs :
• No missing or misheard words/phrases in the transcription.
• The subtitles are a faithful representation of the spoken content.
• Positive feedback for accuracy and clarity of transcription.
2. Cultural Context and Relevance
• Primary Goal : Maintain the cultural context and significance of expressions used in the Tamil content.
• Tasks :
• Identify and retain the cultural or regional references that are important to the audience.
• Ensure that culturally rich expressions, idioms, or local dialects are appropriately conveyed.
• Handle complex terms (e.g., specific cultural references or idiomatic expressions) in a way that stays true to the original content.

• Positive feedback from audiences on cultural relevance.
• The subtitler captures nuances of the Tamil language, including humor, proverbs, idioms, and slang.
3. Synchronization and Timing

• Follow a consistent style guide for terminology (e.g., formal vs. informal language, titles, honorifics).

• Adhere to guidelines on intellectual property rights when dealing with branded content or external references.

8. Efficiency and Timeliness
• Primary Goal : Ensure timely and efficient delivery of the subtitles.
• Tasks :
• Complete subtitle creation within agreed timelines, taking into account project scope and complexity.
• Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and handle large volumes of content.
• KPIs :
• Consistent on-time delivery of subtitle files.
• Minimal delays or backlogs in subtitle creation.
9. Quality Assurance and Self-Review
• Primary Goal : Perform quality checks to ensure that the subtitles are error-free before submission.
• Tasks :
• Proofread and edit the subtitles for any spelling, grammatical, or typographical errors.
• Conduct a final review to check for synchronization, readability, and overall quality.
• Ensure that there is no redundancy or unnecessary repetition in the subtitles.
• KPIs :
• Zero errors after review and quality checks.
• High-quality, polished subtitles with no grammatical or technical flaws.
10. Collaboration and Communication
• Primary Goal : Communicate effectively with the team regarding subtitling needs and changes.
• Tasks :
• Collaborate with project managers, editors, and content creators for clarification on tricky terms, phrases, or scenes.
• Respond to feedback and incorporate any required changes in a timely manner.
• Participate in discussions related to the overall quality and accuracy of the subtitles.
• KPIs :
• Positive feedback on communication and responsiveness.
• Active involvement in team discussions and feedback implementation.
Adjustments Specific to Tamil Content:
• Language Sensitivity : Since the content is in Tamil, the subtitler must be highly sensitive to regional variations, dialects, and the subtleties of the Tamil language. They should be able to differentiate between formal, informal, and colloquial Tamil, and adjust subtitles accordingly.
• Cultural Understanding : The subtitler must possess a strong understanding of Tamil culture and the specific audience for whom the subtitles are being created. This will help avoid potential misunderstandings, especially with complex cultural or emotional expressions.
