Position Overview:
The Subject Matter Specialist in Pedagogy will provide expertise in instructional strategies, lesson planning, tutors' training, TLM development, and assessment practices specifically tailored for 6th to 12th grade schools of Tea State in Assam. This role involves collaborating with educators/tutors, adopting new strategies to enhance teaching effectiveness and improve student outcomes through innovative pedagogical approaches. This position will be responsible for effective and timely implementation of academic support component and will report to the Project manager. Key Responsibilities: • Curriculum Design & Development:
• Collaborate with tutors to design and refine curriculum that aligns with student needs as per academic baseline standards and best practices in pedagogy.
• Ensure curriculum incorporates diverse learning styles and supports inclusive education.
2. Professional Development: • Conduct workshops and training sessions for tutors on effective teaching strategies, classroom management, and student engagement techniques.
• Provide ongoing coaching and support to tutors in implementing pedagogical practices.
• Conduct periodic workshops with tutors for TLM preparation
• Establishment of libraries and workshop with tutors for the effective use of libraries in regular teaching learning processes.
3. Assessment and Evaluation: • Assist in developing assessment tools and strategies to evaluate student learning and instructional effectiveness.
• Analyse student performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
4. Research and Best Practices: • Stay informed about current research in pedagogy and educational technology.
• Share relevant findings with staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
5. Collaboration and Support: • Work closely with school leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders to create a cohesive approach to pedagogy across grade levels.
• Act as a resource for teachers in addressing specific instructional challenges.
6. Community Engagement: • Engage with parents and the community to promote understanding of pedagogical practices and the importance of education.
Qualifications: • Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field preferred.
• Bed is preferred.
• Minimum of [5-6] years of teaching experience at the middle or high school level.
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and pedagogical theories.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyse data and use it to inform instructional practices.
Desired Skills: • Familiarity with educational technology and its application in the classroom.
• Experience in curriculum design and assessment.
• Passion for improving student outcomes and supporting educators.
