Overview
Join our Client's team as a Sub Editor. The Sub Editor will play a crucial role in our editorial process, ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of our published content. This position requires a meticulous eye for detail, strong editorial skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a passion for journalism and a deep understanding of editorial standards and practices.
Responsibilities
• Review and edit articles, ensuring they are free of grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors.
• Verify facts, statistics, and quotes in articles to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Ensure that all content adheres to the company's style guide and editorial standards, maintaining consistency across all platforms.
• Craft compelling and accurate headlines, subheadings, and captions that attract readers' attention and accurately represent the content.
• Work closely with writers, reporters, and other editors to improve and finalize articles. Provide constructive feedback to writers to enhance the quality of their work.
• Assist in managing the content calendar, ensuring timely publication of articles. Coordinate with the editorial team to prioritize and schedule content.
• Collaborate with the multimedia team to integrate images, videos, and other media elements into articles, enhancing the overall presentation and engagement.
• Ensure all content is edited and ready for publication within the assigned deadlines.
Required Experience and Skills
• 2 years of experience in an editorial role, preferably as a Sub Editor or Copy Editor.
• Excellent command of the English language, with strong editing, proofreading, and writing skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Familiarity with AP Style or other editorial style guides.
• Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing tools.
• Basic understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field.
