Study Abroad Counsellor

Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Study Abroad Counsellor to join our team in Kottakal , Wayanad , Kochi , and Kannur . The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a passion for helping students pursue higher education abroad, and a deep understanding of the application and visa processes for various countries. Local candidates are preferred for their familiarity with the region and its student needs.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide expert counselling to students interested in studying abroad, assisting with choosing the right course , university , and country based on their academic background and career aspirations.
• Guide students through the entire process of applying to foreign universities, including documentation , admissions , and visa applications .
• Stay updated on the latest trends in study abroad opportunities , scholarships , admissions requirements , and visa regulations for popular destinations like the USA , UK , Canada , Australia , and other study hubs.
• Provide personalized counselling sessions and give detailed information about universities, courses, living expenses, and student life abroad.
• Assist students in preparing necessary documents, including SOPs (Statements of Purpose) , CVs , and Recommendation Letters .
• Help students identify scholarships and financial aid options to fund their education abroad.
• Conduct seminars and workshops on study abroad options and share insights about career growth through international education.
• Follow up on student applications and provide regular updates on the status of applications and visa processing.
• Maintain accurate records of all students, applications, and interactions in the system.
• Build and maintain relationships with universities , embassies , and other key stakeholders in the international education sector.
• Ensure students are well-prepared for pre-departure orientation and assist with settling into the host country.

Key Requirements :

• 1-3 years of experience in study abroad counselling or related fields (freshers with the right skills are welcome to apply).
• Strong knowledge of study abroad programs , university rankings , and visa processes for key international destinations.
• Excellent communication , presentation , and interpersonal skills .
• Ability to guide students through the entire application process , including selecting universities, writing personal statements, and providing visa assistance.
• Local candidates from Kottakal , Wayanad , Kochi , or Kannur preferred for better regional familiarity.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other office management tools.
• Fluency in English and Malayalam (knowledge of Hindi is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications :

• A degree or diploma in Education , Counselling , Business Administration , or related fields.
• Prior experience with study abroad agencies or universities is highly preferred.
• Experience in sales or customer service is a plus.
• Knowledge of scholarship programs and financial planning for international education.
