Job Description

Your Job The Structural engineer will join our structural engineering team located in our Indian Design and Engineering center to execute engineering activities for Piping Stress analysis in the complete packages (Flare Systems, Thermal Oxidizer Systems, Vapor Recovery Units, Distillation Skids, Membrane Skids etc.).


You will be responsible for the customer specification review, performing piping stress analysis calculations, structural analysis, and design of piping supports, compiling calculation report, and 3D model and drawing review and approval. Working in a multidisciplinary international team, you will deliver to ensure the design packages to meet the customer requirements on time and with sound design quality in the optimized manner. Upon need you will have customer contacts to illustrate solutions and details about the defined design.

What You Will Do



• Perform piping stress analysis as per domestic and international codes and standards along with all applicable client specifications. Majorly used codes will be ASME B31.3 code.
• Identify and create the critical line list for performing the Piping stress analysis.
• Design all components related to piping supports.
• Qualify the Equipment nozzles for the piping loads.
• Handson experience in both Static and dynamic piping stress analysis.
• Perform flange leakage checks.
• Prepare datasheet for Expansion joints, spring hanger.
• Review vendor offers of bought out items like Expansion Joint, Spring hangers etc. Also bring technical alignment with vendor to meet project requirements.
• Experienced in high temperature ducting analysis.
• Perform mechanical support design for ducting like saddle or trunnion supports.
• Familiar with various piping codes and standards such as ASME, API & IBR.
• Perform GRP piping stress analysis based on project requirement.
• Perform Jacketed piping stress analysis based on project requirement.
• Perform evaluation of localized stresses on components for imposed loads utilizing WRC 107/297 or FEA (finite element analysis). FEA will be performed majorly in Nozzle Pro.
• Support proposal team for providing the weight estimates during preordering stage.
• Participate in 3D model review meetings from mechanical engineering perspective.
• Guide technically designers and drafters to meet all the project requirements.
• Review all the piping isometric drawings to ensure it is in line with the calculations.
• Timely resolution of technical doubts by effectively communicating with global counterparts.
• Ensure rigorous peer review and improve quality of engineering drawings and documents.
• Foster effective communication on technical aspects with customers.
• Assist project, Sales, and design teams on technical matters.



Who You Are (Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's / master's degree in mechanical engineering
• Experience 3-5 yrs
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in design and engineering of Piping systems.
• Familiar with the requirements of ASME Sec VIII Div-1 / EN 13445 code requirements (Secondary requirement).
• Familiar with various international Wind & Seismic design codes for pressure vessels. (Secondary requirement).
• Operating proficiency and experience in software CAESAR-II, CODECALC, & PRG Software (Nozzle Pro).
• Basic knowledge of ANSYS is added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Pressure vessel is added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.
• Basic knowledge to understand and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Good understanding on different materials as per national and internal standards.
• Good communication skill to interact with customer, Vendor, Inspection agencies & consultants.
• Good English's written and verbal communication.
