Job Description

:

The successful applicant will analyze structures to verify that they are structurally sound and meet the requirements of the building codes and standards. He/She will prepare structural calculations, specifications, and coordinate required information with the construction documents. The candidate will be required to work at our Bengaluru, India office.

Minimum Education Required:

Master's degree in:

Civil Engineering with Structural Emphasis

Structural Engineering

Primary Duties:

Prepare structural calculations manually and use standard computer engineering programs. Calculations will model the current building codes and standards

Interpret construction, architectural drawings and specifications

Sketch details and mark-up plans for draftsmen to draw

Back check and coordinate plans and details with requirement from calculations and building code. Review and mark-up plans and details as needed to present information to draftsmen, plan examiners, and contractors

Research building codes and standards

Complete projects in a timely manner and meet deadlines

Continue learning by participating in webinar trainings on a regular basis

Work Experience and Knowledge:

1+ years of experience in structural engineering, with hands-on experience in designing and analyzing structural systems.

Wood, masonry, concrete, and steel design

Gravity and Lateral Analysis

Detailing connections

Writing structural specifications

Performing Special Structural Inspections of masonry, concrete, and welding

Read, understand, and interpret construction documents, specifications, and building codes

Shop drawing review

Be proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills

Have experience in Enercalc, Math Cad, Risa 3D, AutoCAD

Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., AISC) is an added advantage.

Skills:

Fluent in the English language with excellent verbal and written communications skills

Ability to work independently on projects and coordinate with other team members

Work Schedule:

40+ hour work week typically Monday through Friday [11am to 8pm]

Occasional evening, early morning and weekend work is required
