Job Purpose:
MGS Commercial-Indirect Strategic Sourcing Buyer \xe2\x80\x93 Marketing & Sales is responsible for the development & execution of Category Management strategies for the Below-The-Line categories like Merchandising, Third Party sales brokers, sponsorship, activations, promotions, POS, Displays, Premia, Market Research & General Services categories like MICE, Travel, temp labor, IFM for all Mars Segments in India, reporting to the Strategic Sourcing and Operations Manager India. This person will develop and execute cross segment specific strategies for the businesses as appropriate in regards to the Petcare, Mars Wrigley Confections and Multi sales segments in India.
This position will be responsible for optimizing investments in terms of cost, quality, risk and availability as per the Mars commercial manual and its processes as well as following MGS Commercial governance.
Additionally, the position will be responsible to connect and align with the APMEA regional sourcing managers for M&S in order to provide local inputs on local, regional or global suppliers and to implement locally any elements of the regional sourcing that impacts India in regards to the regional and global contracts by leveraging supplier relationships and strategic partnerships to drive standardization across regions and segments where feasible.
He/She will develop an enterprise wide annual sourcing plan (ASP) in Category with a documented 3 year portfolio strategy that is aligned to the business strategies of the Mars Segments including Petcare & Mars Wrigley Confections.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible to develop and institutionalize an enterprise wide annual sourcing plan (ASP) for India across the M&S category including its respective subcategories (creative production, Merchandising, Third Party sales brokers, sponsorship, activations, market research, promotions, POS, Displays, Premia, MICE, temp manpower, recruitment consultants, travel) not limited to the activities of value creation in terms of P&L impact, cost avoidance, contribution to the productivity programs of each Segment and cash, drive innovation through excellence in category management.
Collaborate with the APMEA MGS Regional Sourcing Manager to ensure India market knowledge is included in the Global and regional strategies and implement regional and global strategy MSSM process locally within the requirements of the local market conditions. Participate in the regional collaborative community within the Category that includes the Operation team members responsible for that category based within each of the APMEA clusters including China, ANZ, India and MEA that together will deliver the ASP for each category by executing the activities of value creation as above (point 1)
Responsible to ensure M&S services are purchased in line with commitments to the business and as per the sourcing strategies by ensuring a wide range of sourcing tools (e.g. negotiation, e-procurement, strategic collaboration, tenders/RFP\xe2\x80\x99s etc.) are applied effectively.
Establish and maintain relationships, partnering with the key local and regional stakeholders including regional and key country functional leaders in Supply, Logistics and Finance, GM\xe2\x80\x99s and CFO\xe2\x80\x99s to ensure understanding and alignment with the business needs and requirements. Provides market and financial insights and inputs to the internal financial planning and review processes.
Develop local market Category insights including benchmarking externally and importing best practices locally. Share best practices across the Sourcing-Operations Category teams in APMEA
Responsible for the relationships with regional suppliers locally to drive performance management, deliver continuous quality and cost improvement. Manage the regional suppliers locally including financial and contractual negotiation
Recommend a supply base strategy that ensures effective risk management through robust contracts and monitoring of financial and other KPIs. Act as a key contact for regional and critical supplier relationships. Ensure the supplier base is optimized to enable the implementation of Keystone which is an end to end procure to pay process in category management
Develop & implement a continuous improvement action plan ensuring knowledge share with regional team. Monitor changes and adjust the plan as needed to sustain performance results.
Ensure compliance with policies, systems and controls according to Mars standards. Communicates business risk & opportunity.
Context & Scope:
This role will be required to partner with the APMEA Regional Sourcing Managers in M&S and work together in a hyper-collaborative way. They will need to travel to meet with key stakeholders across the segments in India including Petcare, Mars Wrigley Confectionary. This role will also be in charge of the local and critical supplier relationship, contractual and financial negotiation with Supplier senior executive up to NSEA CEOs /VP\xe2\x80\x99s.
Job Specifications & Qualifications:
1. Education & Professional Qualification
Bachelor degree in business, supply chain procurement or related field
2. Knowledge/Experience
8-10 years, ideally buying experience for indirect categories/ including marketing and sales will be highly preferred
Proven Leadership, Change Management and Project Management skills. Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in complex and/or ambiguous business environments. History of building strong client and supplier relationships
