Job Description

The Store In charge/Store Keeper is responsible for managing the storage, inventory, and distribution of materials and supplies at construction sites. This role ensures that all materials are received, stored, and issued in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining accurate records and supporting the construction team in meeting project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials and supplies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or loss.
• Issue materials to construction teams as required, ensuring proper documentation.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and audits.
• Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized storage area.
• Prepare reports on inventory levels, usage, and stock movements.
• Assist in managing returns and exchanges of defective or surplus materials.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Store In charge/Store Keeper, or similar role in a construction environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (especially Excel).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials as required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
• Experience with procurement and supply chain management.
• Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment.
