• Inventory Management :
• Maintain accurate records of stock levels and ensure materials are stored properly.
• Monitor and update stock levels in real-time to ensure availability for site work.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies in stock records.
• Ensure timely reordering of materials to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Material Receipt and Inspection :
• Receive materials from suppliers, inspect for quality and quantity, and ensure all deliveries are as per the purchase order.
• Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or short deliveries to the procurement team.
• Ensure proper documentation of receipts and that all goods are recorded accurately.
• Stock Issuance and Distribution :
• Issue materials to construction teams or subcontractors based on approved requisitions.
• Ensure that all materials are issued in the correct quantities, in good condition, and according to the project schedule.
• Maintain a system for tracking material usage on-site.
• Site Store Organization :
• Organize the store in a systematic manner to facilitate easy access to materials and tools.
• Ensure the store is clean, safe, and complies with health and safety regulations.
• Properly label and categorize materials for quick identification and retrieval.
• Record-Keeping and Documentation :
• Maintain proper records for all incoming and outgoing materials, including invoices, delivery notes, and requisition forms.
• Ensure that inventory reports are updated and shared regularly with the project manager or senior staff.
• Generate regular reports on stock levels, material usage, and requirements for replenishment.
• Supplier Coordination :
• Coordinate with suppliers for the timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues related to orders or deliveries.
• Ensure that supplier invoices match the materials received and that any discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Safety and Compliance :
• Ensure that all materials and tools are stored safely, following site-specific safety protocols and guidelines.
• Conduct periodic safety checks and ensure that no hazardous materials are improperly stored.
• Ensure that all site workers follow safety procedures when handling materials.
• Team Management :
• Supervise a small team of store assistants or laborers, ensuring they carry out their duties effectively.
• Provide training to new staff on stock handling, safety procedures, and store organization.
Required Qualifications :
• Education : A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience : Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial settings.
• Skills :
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large inventories.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management software or systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to material storage and handling.
Working Conditions :
• This role is typically based on-site and may involve working in various weather conditions.
• The Site Store Incharge may need to work extended hours or weekends depending on project deadlines.
