To manage and oversee the efficient operations of the hospital's store by maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring the proper storage of materials, handling procurement, and supporting the hospital's supply chain requirements.
Key Responsibilities;
• Ensure proper stock levels are maintained at all times for medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment, and consumables.
• Regularly monitor inventory levels, perform stock audits, and update stock records accurately.
• Implement and maintain a proper stock tracking system for efficient use of resources.
• Assist in procuring medical supplies, equipment, and consumables based on hospital needs and department requests.
• Coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries and ensure the materials meet hospital standards.
• Keep track of stock expiration dates and initiate stock rotation procedures to minimize waste.
• Issue materials, drugs, and supplies to various departments and clinical areas based on requisitions.
• Ensure proper documentation of items issued, including quantity, date, and department.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including purchases, receipts, issues, and returns.
• Maintain reports on inventory status, including stock levels, usage rates, and shortages.
• Inspect incoming goods for quality and compliance with the specifications outlined by the hospital or medical standards.
• Ensure that medical supplies are stored according to required conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) to preserve their efficacy and safety.
• Collaborate with the procurement, accounts, and medical departments to ensure the smooth flow of materials.
• Assist in preparing requisitions for items needed by various hospital departments and personnel.
• Ensure that the store is compliant with hospital health and safety regulations.
• Adhere to sanitation standards for storing medical and pharmaceutical products.
• Prepare regular stock status and usage reports for management review.
• Alert supervisors regarding potential stockouts or items approaching expiration.
• Provide assistance to hospital staff regarding the availability of items, timely deliveries, and resolving any supply issues.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff and vendors.
