Role & responsibilities
• Inventory Management
• Stock Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels for raw materials, tools, and finished goods.
• Reorder Levels: Monitor and maintain reorder levels to prevent stockouts while avoiding overstock.
• Stock Audits: Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure the physical stock matches the recorded data.
• Storage: Ensure proper storage of materials to prevent damage, contamination, or loss.
• Material Handling
• Receiving Goods: Oversee the receipt of incoming goods, inspect them for damage or discrepancies, and ensure they meet quality standards.
• Issuing Materials: Ensure timely issuance of raw materials to the production floor and tools or equipment to staff as needed.
• Tracking Movement: Maintain accurate records of materials and finished goods moving in and out of the store, ensuring proper documentation.
• Record Keeping
• Documentation: Maintain up-to-date records of all incoming and outgoing stock, including material receipts, delivery notes, and stock ledgers.
• ERP/Inventory Software: Use inventory management software or ERP systems to track stock levels, orders, and deliveries.
• Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on stock status, discrepancies, and inventory valuation for management.
• Vendor Coordination
• Follow-Up on Deliveries: Coordinate with suppliers and procurement departments to ensure timely deliveries of raw materials and supplies.
• Quality Issues: Report and coordinate the return or replacement of substandard materials.
• Compliance and Safety
• Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, especially for hazardous materials or goods.
• Quality Standards: Adhere to internal and external quality standards for material handling, storage, and documentation.
• Security: Implement measures to safeguard the store's inventory against theft, loss, or damage.
• Waste Management
• Disposal of Defective Goods: Ensure proper disposal or return of defective goods or obsolete materials according to company procedures.
• Waste Control: Manage scrap and waste, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
