The Restaurant Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the restaurant\'s kitchen and dining areas. This position involves a combination of dishwashing, equipment maintenance, and general support to the kitchen and service staff. The Restaurant Steward is responsible for ensuring a clean and well-organized environment to contribute to a positive dining experience for guests. Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate industrial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.
Ensure all items are properly sanitized and stored according to health and safety regulations.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness in dishwashing and kitchen areas.
Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
Collect and dispose of kitchen waste and trash.
Keep kitchen floors, countertops, and other surfaces clean and sanitized.
Regularly clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including dishwashing machines, ovens, and food preparation surfaces.
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
Keep track of dishware, glassware, and kitchen supplies inventory.
Notify management when supplies are running low and assist with restocking.
Work closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operation and communication.
Assist in coordinating the flow of dishes and utensils between the kitchen and service areas.
Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
Report any safety hazards or incidents to management promptly.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
