A key account manager in warehousing is responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
• Building relationships Developing and maintaining trust with key clients, and understanding their needs and requirements
• Solving problems Identifying and addressing issues that may be preventing growth, and resolving operational and financial problems
• Negotiating Leading contract negotiations with clients, and negotiating pricing and service level agreements
• Managing accounts Overseeing the financial exposure and operational costs of assigned accounts, and ensuring that goals and deliverables are met
• Communicating Serving as a link between customers and internal teams, and reporting on key account issues to sales management
• Delivering products and services Ensuring that the correct products and services are delivered to customers on time
• Generating sales Identifying opportunities for additional business, and generating new sales from existing customers
• Preparing reports Preparing regular reports on progress and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders
