• Operate and monitor wire and cable production machines (e.g., wire drawing machines, stranding machines, extrusion machines) to ensure they run smoothly and efficiently.
• Set up machines for different production runs, including adjusting parameters such as tension, speed, and temperature.
• Monitor the extrusion, winding, and coating processes to ensure consistency and quality of the wire or cable being produced.
• Perform basic machine adjustments and calibrations to maintain product specifications.
• Inspect wire and cable products regularly during production to ensure they meet established quality standards for diameter, insulation, tensile strength, and appearance.
• Perform routine checks, including visual inspections, measurements, and testing (e.g., continuity tests, insulation resistance tests) on finished products.
• Maintain proper documentation of quality control checks, including any defects or deviations from specifications.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions (e.g., inconsistent wire thickness, extrusion issues, or tension problems) and make necessary adjustments to maintain production flow.
• Notify maintenance personnel or team leads for complex mechanical issues or required repairs.
• Perform basic machine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components.
• Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including proper handling of machinery and materials.
• Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
• Adhere to environmental and safety regulations related to the wire and cable manufacturing process.
• Track production data, including the number of wire/cable units produced, downtime, and any quality issues encountered during the shift.
• Maintain accurate logs of machine settings, maintenance activities, and quality inspections.
• Report any irregularities in production to supervisors or quality control teams for further action.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including suggesting enhancements to machine efficiency, product quality, and safety practices.
