Powered by the relentless innovation of the open source community, Cloudera advances digital transformation for the worlds largest enterprises.The Public Cloud Platform team at Cloudera is looking for a Staff Software Engineer in Test to help drive the quality engineering activities of Clouderas next-generation Hybrid Data Platform. The role offers significant opportunities for growth.As a Staff Software Engineer in Test you will:Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans covering functional testing, customer workflow automation, fault injection, scale and performance testingBuild and maintain the infrastructure and practices for the Control Plane engineering team in collaboration with the central IT and infra teams at ClouderaDrive test automation efforts and build tests suites for continuous testingTriage product issues, identify product and test gaps. Work towards addressing those gaps and proactively take corrective and preventive actionsLead release efforts from test and certification of product releases across various form factorsCreate and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reportsBe the quality advocate of the team. Advocate for the implementation of Engineering best practices and quality standardsBuild strong relationships and collaborate with platform and UI engineers, other quality engineers, UX designers, as well as, Product Management, Field Engineering & other external partners.Were excited about you if you have:8+ years of experience in software testingExperience with test automation tools and technologiesExcellent skills in creating test automation scripts using PythonExperience with at least one of the following Cloud technologies - Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Experience with containers, Kubernetes and Linux system administrationAdept team lead and mentorExperience testing scalable, robust and secure enterprise applicationsStrong fundamentals in CI/CD processes and environmentsSelf-driven and motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanshipStrong written and verbal communication skills.It is a plus if you have:Experience in testing for PaaS/SaaS productsExperience working on large-scale distributed systemsExperience with testing web services/microservices (Javascript, Mocha, Selenium)Experience with Scale and Performance testing tools (Jmeter, LoadRunner, etc.)Some conceptual understanding of the networking aspects on public cloud platforms (such as VPCs, Subnets, Gateways, Load Balancers, Private Links, Security Groups etc.) of one or more public cloud platforms.Experience with implementing Service Mesh such as IstioExperience with certification/compliance standards such as Fedramp, CIS etc.Proven track record of collaborating with agile teams across geographically dispersed locationsWhat you can expect from us:Generous PTO PolicySupport work life balance withFlexible WFH PolicyMental & Physical Wellness programsPhone and Internet Reimbursement programAccess to Continued Career DevelopmentComprehensive Benefits and Competitive PackagesEmployee Resource GroupsCloudera is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
