What you get to do in this role: As a Staff Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to become a key member of the Core Platform Security group. Core Platform Security group is responsible forworking with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) office to identify and address security issues/defects related to software security (AppSec), authentication and authorization, symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, digital signatures, PKI, TLS, and cryptographic hash functions, etc. You will also collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop new and improve on existing platform features. Qualifications To be successful in this role you have: 10+ years software development experience including: Expert level understanding of best practices for object-oriented and modularized software.Particular emphasis on Java 3+ years of experience in software security (AppSec) Knowledge of OWASP ASVS, SCVS, and related verification standards Knowledge in authentication and authorization standards including OAuth, SAML, JWT etc Knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, digital signatures, PKI, TLS, and cryptographic hash functions Ability to work with CISO/Customers to identify and address security issues/defects. Expert level understanding of web technologies: HTTP and backend programming of web applications Experience doing static code analysis (through PRs, tools) Experience with troubleshooting difficult production issues e.g. concurrency issues, memory leaks, network problems, intermittent failures etc. across the stack Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and Oracle Experience working with JavaScript. Advanced knowledge with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns Bonus Points for: Experience in security domain or risk or vulnerability mitigation Experience working with Kafka, Redis, Pulsar, RabbitMQ, Tomcat, WebSockets Additional Information ServiceNow is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
