Cloudera is looking for a software engineer with strong distributed systems expertise to join the Cloudera Data Engineering team. This team builds and maintains the Cloudera Data Engineering Experiences (CDE) within the overall Cloudera Data Platform (CDP).

Cloudera Data Engineering Experience is the next-generation cloud-native SaaS/PaaS platform to allow customers to run large-scale data engineering workflows (consists of Spark, Python, Airflow, etc.) with just a few clicks.

We are looking for Staff Engineers with experience in large-scale, distributed systems to help build our enterprise-grade Data Engineering Experiences powered upon open-source technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, and Kubernetes.

The Data Engineering team spans across the globe working in India, China, the United States, Hungary, and Australia. Many of the team members are deeply involved in open-source projects and communities like Apache Software Foundation and CNCF.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:

We\xe2\x80\x99re excited about you if you have:

7+ years of professional software development.

Experience leading and delivering complex product enhancements.

We use GoLang/Java/Scala/Python in projects, you should have a strong understanding of at least one of the following languages: GoLang (preferred), Java, Scala, Rust, C++, and Python. And interested in learning the languages we\xe2\x80\x99re using.

Experience with systems design, and development.

Passionate about programming, clean coding habits, attention to detail, and focus on quality.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong ability to research and solve problems independently without constant supervision.

(Most importantly) Open-minded, desire to learn new things and build great products.

It is a plus if you have:

Experience with using/developing Apache Spark/Airflow or other related technologies.

Experience building and maintaining applications on Kubernetes.

Experience with the cloud service (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Experience with large-scale, distributed, data processing systems design and development with an understanding of high availability and performance.

Experience building scalable, robust, and secure Enterprise applications.
