• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.



### Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in software development with one or more general purpose programming languages, including Java, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience with performance tuning of high scale/low latency systems.
• Experience developing cloud or SaaS products.
• Knowledge of database systems, storage systems, and SQL.

In this role, you will be the overall technical leader for a critical product area within BigQuery. Strategic areas of investment in Data Sharing include growing adoption of Data Clean Rooms for privacy-oriented sharing, and embedding sharing in AI workflows.

Responsibilities
--------------------

• Take ownership of the technical design and architectural/operational decisions to support large-scale data sharing and secure/low-trust capabilities within BigQuery.
• Make technical contributions and provide technical guidance and coaching for a team of Software Engineers.
• Drive improvements in BigQuery engineering and operational excellence to deliver a reliable, resilient, and high-scale service.
• Design and implement tests and experiments to evaluate and monitor the performance of the system.
• Work effectively across boundaries in a distributed team setup to deliver on organizational goals.
