About the Role:Fivetran is looking for an experienced engineer to join our core application platform teams within the Platform Engineering Group. In the next few years, you will focus on contributing to our vision, to drive our 10x growth from 2,500+ customers to 25,000+ customers.If the idea of contributing to the critical and core services that drive the fundamental functioning and building blocks of data processing involved in our data pipelines, this opportunity fits you well. As an engineer on the core team, you will design, implement, and maintain the central parts of our data pipelines needed to operate the best-in-class reliable, secure, and scalable data movement. What You'll Do

• Design, Develop, and Debug: Lead the design, development, and debugging of software for distributed systems, ensuring robust, performant and scalable solutions.
• Project Leadership: Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with different stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery in an iterative development environment.
• Mentorship and Collaboration: Serve as a leading contributor, both individually and as a team member, offering direction and mentorship to other engineers.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and reliability, conducting thorough testing and reviews.
• Innovation and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, advocating for the adoption of new tools and methodologies to improve the development process.

Skills We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in the software industry with a passion for solving complex software engineering problems.
• Software engineering foundation - experience designing and developing reusable libraries and interfaces leveraging industry best practices.
• Proven track record of leading and delivering large and complicated projects.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with OOP, preferably Java.
• Hands-on experience working with any cloud technologies(AWS, GCP,Azure) and containerization methodologies like docker, K8s.
• Experience interacting with continuous integration tools like Buildkite/Circle CI
• Strong written and verbal English skills to support complex analysis.
• Knowledge of observability tools like New Relic, Grafana is a plus
• Knowledge of Data Engineering is a plus
