Job Responsibilities:



Prescription Handling:

Attend doctors' prescriptions at the pharmacy counter, advising patients on the correct dosage and administration of prescribed medications. Dispense medications as per prescriptions issued by doctors. In cases where prescribed medicines are unavailable, arrange for their procurement from in-house pharmacies to fulfil 100% of prescriptions. Consult with doctors for any necessary substitutions. Cross-check issued medications against the prescription, verifying patient names, item names, quantities, expiry dates, and acknowledging the bill.

Scheduled Drug Handling:

Manage and dispense scheduled drugs (controlled substances) in accordance with legal and hospital regulations. Maintain meticulous records of all scheduled drugs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

Customer Service:

Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions. Provide clear information and address any concerns regarding their prescriptions. Maintain positive relationships with patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction. Handle inbound calls related to drug information, patient counselling, and queries about drug therapy. Address patient concerns and provide relevant information as needed. Assist with billing and handle cash transactions as required.

Cold Chain Management:

Ensure that medications requiring refrigeration are stored under proper conditions and secured appropriately. Verify and document the quantity, MRP, batch number, and expiry date of received items from stores before entering them into the inventory system.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate records of stock, including entering stocks into the computer system and cross-checking receipts with store issues. Track and follow up on out-of-stock items, ensuring timely replenishment. Conduct regular physical stock checks, ensuring that inventory levels for various categories (e.g., tablets, syrups, injections, etc.) are accurate and reconciled with records. Perform daily verification of fast-moving items. Ensure proper hand-over and take-over of duties at shift changes.

Sales Focus:

Work towards achieving pharmacy sales targets and contribute to overall departmental goals.

Additional Duties:

Perform any other tasks as assigned by the pharmacy in-charge based on the exigencies of the work.

Qualifications:



Educational Background:

Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm), Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm), or Master's Degree in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) from a recognized institution.

Experience:

0-5 years of experience. Freshers or candidates with relevant pharmacy retail experience up to a supervisory level are welcome to apply.

Skills:

Up-to-date knowledge of medications and their availability. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications. Understanding of legal requirements and regulations related to scheduled drugs.
