The Staff Nurse at the shelter home will provide holistic nursing care to the residents, including emergency care and regular health monitoring. The nurse is responsible for ensuring that the medical needs of abandoned or vulnerable individuals residing in the shelter are met with compassion and professionalism.
Timing: Morning 8:00Am to 5:00 pm and 12:00pm to 09:00Pm (Alternate shift)

Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Care:
• Provide daily nursing care to residents, including hygiene assistance, wound care, administering medications, cannula, catheter, ryles tube and monitoring vital signs.
• Assist with personal care for residents, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
• Develop individualized care plans for residents in collaboration with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
• Emergency Care:
• Provide immediate first aid and emergency care for residents during critical incidents, including CPR, controlling bleeding, and stabilizing injured or ill individuals.
• Coordinate with local hospitals or emergency services for referrals or emergency transfers when necessary.
• Maintain and replenish emergency care supplies, ensuring the shelter is always equipped for emergencies.
• Health Monitoring and Disease Prevention:
• Regularly monitor and document health conditions of the residents, identifying any emerging health issues.
• Administer vaccinations, conduct health screenings, and manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, etc.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate medical records of residents, including daily reports, medication logs, and incident reports.
• Document all emergency situations and medical interventions, ensuring timely communication with supervisors and medical professionals.
• Compassionate Support:
• Offer emotional and psychological support to residents who may be facing trauma, abandonment, or chronic illnesses.
• Create a nurturing and supportive environment, ensuring that all residents feel safe, cared for, and respected.
Qualifications:
• Education: Diploma or Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Licensing: Valid nursing license.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing
• Skills:
• Proficiency in administering first aid and emergency care.
• Strong knowledge of nursing care procedures and medical protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in high-stress situations and manage emergencies.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
