What we are looking for:
ACV is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer - DevOps (Salesforce) to lead the revisioning, development, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines tailored for Salesforce applications. The successful candidate will be a natural leader in the DevOps space, with proven experience in leading tooling migrations from scratch for mid to large organizations. You will collaborate closely with the Salesforce team to align the CI/CD processes with the broader DevOps practices and standards used across the organization. This role requires hands-on experience in instrumenting DevOps practices and orchestrating CI/CD pipelines within the Salesforce development environment. You will drive end-to-end automation, tooling migration, and integration, ensuring that the Salesforce development lifecycle is efficient, scalable, and secure. Additionally, you will play a key role in fostering collaboration between Salesforce developers, architects, and other teams to uphold best practices and deliver continuous delivery excellence.
What you will do:
• Design, architect, and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce development, optimizing deployment processes to ensure the efficient delivery of Salesforce applications and customizations.
• Integrate DevOps practices throughout the Salesforce development lifecycle, encompassing automated testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and infrastructure as code.
• Lead enterprise-level DevOps tooling migrations (e.g., Copado to Jenkins or Jenkins to Copado), ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption and improved tool performance.
• Establish best practices for Salesforce development teams, driving consistency, security, and high-quality delivery through automation, governance, and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Salesforce developers, architects, and stakeholders) to define, implement, and align DevOps workflows, processes, and requirements.
• Automate manual processes to enhance deployment speed, stability, security, and overall pipeline efficiency.
• Monitor and resolve issues within CI/CD pipelines, integrations, and tool migrations, ensuring high availability and minimizing downtime.
• Evaluate and optimize DevOps pipelines to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability for Salesforce environments.
• Mentor and train teams on Salesforce-specific DevOps best practices, fostering continuous improvement and automation across teams.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for DevOps processes, workflows, and infrastructure configurations tailored to Salesforce.
• Stay current with Salesforce and DevOps tools, technologies, and best practices, including Salesforce DX, Copado, Jenkins, and GitHub.
• Lead Go-Live activities, ensuring smooth cut-over planning, execution, and release management, with meticulous coordination of deployment plans and checklists.
• Manage risks and resolve issues related to release scope, schedule, and quality during deployments.
• Develop scripts and automation tools for building, integrating, and deploying software releases across various platforms.
• Support mission-critical distributed systems, ensuring 24x7 support and troubleshooting for production environments, and performing root cause analysis for incidents.
• Advocate for and document best practices in release management, continuous integration, and continuous delivery, ensuring consistent adoption of these processes across teams.
• Maintain a cutting-edge understanding of Salesforce metadata architecture, ensuring optimal configuration and deployment practices.
What you will need:
• Bachelors degree in Computer science,Software Engineering, or a related field is typically required
• 8 years of experience
Preferred:
• SF Admin Certification
• Copado certification
Working Conditions:
• Hybrid ( Minimum 3 days in-office per week)
• Experience in identifying environment strategy and branching strategy. Plan and execute scheduled releases across multiple Salesforce instances.
• Experience in configuring Version Control and commands E.g., GIT. Ensure proper tracking of released components in version control. Branch update strategies, set up code owners files.
• Experience in developing validation and deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps or BitBucket or Jenkin or GitLab using scripting language or PowerShell
• Designed CI/CD processes within a Jenkins orchestration framework, including automated build, test/QA, and deployment tools.
• Hands-on experience in Continuous Integration Tools (Git, Jenkins, Ant Tool,Shell scripting,Gitlab, Github,Jenkins,SFDX)
• Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible and OpenShift.
• Proficiency in Salesforce development tools like Salesforce DX, Salesforce CLI, ANT Migration and Salesforce Metadata API.
• Experience in environment support, production deployment: scaling, performance, monitoring, security and networking.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, New Relic, or equivalent.
• Solid scripting skills in Python, Shell/Bash and YAML.
• Experience working with monitoring and logging tools, such as ELK, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Hands-on experience with mission-critical, high-performance SAAS or cloud-based software systems at scale
• Experience with any of the following: Copado, AutoRABIT, Flosum, GearSet, Salto, Splunk
• Work closely with development staff to resolve build problems/merge conflicts.
• Responsible for maintaining consistency between Salesforce sandbox environments spanning Development, QA, SIT, UAT and Production. Manage deployments between sandbox environments.
• Ensure sandboxes are functional and ready for use after deployments or Salesforce releases.
• Keep informed of new technologies and/or methodologies through publications, membership in professional organizations and contact with other IT organizations and institutions.
• Must have certifications Salesforce Certified Administrator and at least on CI/CD tool specific certifications
• Knowledgeable in Salesforce Admin features, understanding of different Sandbox types and Salesforce OOB features for deployment along best practices for Salesforce Deployments for avoiding merge conflicts and overwriting
• Prepare release notes and communicate release progress/status to Stakeholders. Build dashboards and reports on key deployment metrics.
• Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
