Summary Lead the Advanced Compressor Airfoil design maturation for the Vane/Airfoils assembly hardware in the module for the next generation engine. Contribute and provide guidance on Airfoil evaluations, technology maturation & NPI process.
Lead the team on HPC maturation path with adequate program planning. Involved in long-term planning. This role contributes to the overall next generation engine strategy and manages complex issues within Airfoil design, manufacturing, and assembly.
Roles and Responsibilities
Plan and conduct own work and / or formally lead horizontal teams on moderate complexity projects/programs.
Lead / execute technical projects / programs requiring significant domain expertise.
Complex component, module or systems level analysis or hardware expertise.
Translate product/program critical to quality requirements into component/sub-assembly or task level requirements.
Work closely CEO office and stake holders to define success criteria, identification of risks and come up with mitigation plan.
Prioritize and align activities of the team to program requirements with inputs from stake holders and reviewers.
Recommend approach utilizing current best practices to meet program/ project needs.
Growing perspective, making cross product linkages, leveraging expertise.
Evolve analysis and/or test methodology to validate the design against requirements.
Guide development/usage of appropriate engineering productivity and optimization tools in projects.
Identify and assess the influence of assumptions and uncertainties on outcome, alleviate leveraging data and digital tools.
Required Qualifications
PhD / MTech / MS in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering
8+ years of relevant experience on design/analyses in gas turbine domain
In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering programs, inspire excellence in teams and drive change
Excellent communication and presentation skills
