Reports to: Director, Enterprise Data AnalyticsA quick snapshot\xe2\x80\xa6As a Staff Data Engineer, your role will be to partner with application developers to determine the best representation for the data that supports business processes. Design models that reduce data redundancy, streamline data movements, and improve enterprise information management. Your core job responsibilities will include analyzing raw data and developing and maintaining those datasets by improving the data quality and efficiency.Why it\'s a big deal\xe2\x80\xa6This position plays a key role in Enterprise Data Analytics initiatives to develop a data driven organization with an "enterprise perspective" rather than from a single business perspective. You help to create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture to provide scalable solutions to manage large imports and implement operational procedures as necessary. You will transform business information into models by engaging and partnering with business users to solicit their requirements and iteratively refine the conceptual, logical, and physical data models.Are you the person we\'re looking for?Related Experience. You will likely have over 8 years of experience in data engineering and modeling, emphasising data science, AI/ML, data analytics and reporting.Required Skills. Expertise with Python, SQL and Relational database engineering.RDBMS and BI Skills. You have hands-on experience in an enterprise environment developing relational databases and be proficient in industry-standard techniques for data modeling. You have a sound understanding of BI best practices, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, structured query language (SQL) skills, data warehouse, and reporting techniques.Design and Implementation. You possess strong experience in designing and building up a robust data warehouse to implement reporting solutions for internal stakeholders and clients.Cross-functional responsibility. You will work with cross-functional teams across the business to ensure Enterprise Data Analytics (EDA) deliverables continue to be improved and add value to their business stakeholders.Education. A bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or equivalent.Here\'s what will give you an edge\xe2\x80\xa6Good to have skills. Experience in developing database solutions, and building solutions with data visualization and reporting tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc would be an added advantage.Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You\'re comfortable initiating and engaging in collaborative discussions. You are skilled at reading and adapting to different communication styles. When you speak, you are clear and concise. Your strong listening skills help to build trust and foster connections with our clients. They also ensure you collect the correct information so you can resolve issues most expediently.Knowledge and Compliance. The Staff Data Engineer is tasked with the responsibility of contributing to the continual improvement of the business\'s data platforms through his/her observations and well-researched knowledge. You keep track of industry best practices and trends and through your acquired knowledge, take advantage of process and system improvement opportunities.Meeting Deadlines. You have proven ability to work within set timelines and update management on deviation from these estimates.Adaptability and Initiative. You are a self-starter, possess a strong commitment to detail, and can work in a rapidly changing environment. You don\'t wait around for things to happen or for your manager to tell you what to do. You\'re not only proactive about completing your work, but when you sense the need to introduce a project that will benefit the team or the organization -- even if it\'s outside your scope of work -- you put a proposal together, talk to the team about it, and own it.
