Description Role: Senior Program Manager - Propulsion - HV Safety & Charging Systems Department: TT/S43 - Propulsion Systems and Design Job Responsibilities Role Definition: This role is to lead the electric powertrain engineering teams of about 25 engineers on System & Software Engineering. The key focus would be on System design and analysis, Controls development & Fleet Monitoring for the powertrain systems on High Voltage Safety Systems & Charging Systems Activities in the team would typically span: Requirement engineering, Software development, System / Software Testing and data analysis Lead responsibilities will include management of multiple projects, their respective teams and respective stakeholders - like global business partners, suppliers, etc. Role Expectations: Constantly challenge the status-quo, push the current horizons and generate continuous value, constantly upgrade team competencies, create new business opportunities and drive innovation as a part of the regular work. Driving Innovation by bringing-in a culture towards problem identification, development of problem statements, generation of new ideas towards solution, create proof of Concepts and build a strong case for an early productization and also patenting. Creation and execution of program/project strategy with roadmap at the team level to continuously expand the current horizon of the present work share at Bangalore As a part of leadership team, ensure alignment to implement the strategy in line with organization strategy Lead cross functional activities & collaborate with leadership team as needed Flexible to travel globally based on business need to participate in various supplier discussions, technical and management discussions Experience 10 - 18years industry experience with B. Tech/M. Tech in Electrical Engineering or any associated disciplines Essential Experience: 4+ years working experience on High Voltage System and Charging System 4+ years of experience on direct people management as a line manager of a team of atleast 15 persons Prior experience on leading the development HV and Charging system design, software development of features that interact with components such as Battery, Inverter, EVSE, OBC, etc Deep understanding of the technology / systems engineering is essential for this role Demonstrated credentials on driving innovation Demonstrated credentials on developing and executing project/program level strategy Preferable Experience: Prior experience on the following areas: High Voltage Safety system/software development - High Voltage powernet design, topology definition, HV safety strategy development, both from HV components and the vehicle point of view Charging system and control software development HV and charging system testing in both low and high voltage test bench set-up Knowledge of advances in HV systems and Charging technology based on Market Trends Experience on handling the epowertrain fleet data to derive solutions based on system knowhow on field issues, bring-in performance enhancement and understand component degradations. Soft Skills Required Demonstrates good business acumen, strong inter-personal relationship skills, excellent communication and team work skills Intercultural experiences and knowledge of German/Japanese language also useful Qualifications 10 - 18 years industry experience with B. Tech/M. Tech in Electrical Engineering or any associated disciplines
