Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced WordPress Developer to join our team in Thiruvananthapuram. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of proven experience in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development, site optimization, and management. Key Responsibilities

• Custom WordPress Development :
• Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins as per project requirements.
• Ensure all websites are responsive, user-friendly, and optimized for mobile and desktop devices.
• Website Optimization :
• Optimize websites for speed and performance, ensuring efficient loading times and smooth user experience.
• Implement best practices for SEO, accessibility, and security across all websites.
• Client and Team Collaboration :
• Collaborate with clients and team members to understand requirements and provide solutions.
• Assist designers in translating web designs into functional WordPress websites.
• Theme and Plugin Customization :
• Customize existing WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific client needs.
• Modify and implement custom functionalities in themes, ensuring they are up to date and compatible with the latest WordPress version.
• Bug Fixing and Troubleshooting :
• Identify and fix bugs, errors, and issues related to WordPress websites, ensuring smooth functionality.
• Debug and resolve issues with themes, plugins, and server environments.
• Security and Updates :
• Regularly update WordPress core, plugins, and themes to ensure security and optimal performance.
• Implement security best practices to safeguard websites from vulnerabilities and threats.
• User Management :
• Manage user roles and permissions to ensure proper access control and security within WordPress websites.
• Testing and Quality Assurance :
• Conduct rigorous testing on websites for functionality, compatibility, and performance.
• Ensure high-quality standards in all projects and contribute to code reviews.
• Documentation :
• Maintain clear documentation on code and project progress for future reference and updates.

Skills and Qualifications

• Education :
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience :
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development, with a proven track record of building high-quality websites.
• Technical Skills :
• Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Strong experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.
• Familiarity with page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, or similar.
• Knowledge of WooCommerce, custom post types, and custom fields (ACF).
• Experience with REST APIs and integrating third-party APIs with WordPress.
• Familiarity with Git version control for collaborative development.
• Design and Front-End Skills :
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Experience with responsive web design techniques and cross-browser compatibility.
• Knowledge of CSS pre-processors like SASS or LESS is a plus.
• SEO and Performance Optimization :
• Experience implementing SEO best practices and website speed optimizations.
• Familiarity with Google Analytics and other SEO tools for tracking website performance.
• Problem-Solving :
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Communication Skills :
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
