Location/Division Specific Information The Material and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries, increase efficiency, and ultimately change the world. We design, manufacture, and support the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. We combine hardware and software expertise in electron, ion, and light microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets. Discover Impactful Work: The Sr. Supplier Development Manager plans, implements, and leads cross-sector supplier development activities to build, maintain and scale our External Contract Manufacturing (ECM) supply chain. You will create supplier development plans and drives effective resolution of key quality, logistics, or technology issues in the supply chain to secure quality and customer demand. This includes leading cross-functional and cross-site project teams, through the scoping, planning, execution and closure phases of strategic supply chain projects. The position is reporting in the MSD Operations Organization and will report into the Director External Contract Manufacturing. What will you do Establish, align and implement long-term contract manufacturing strategies and key programs with the key collaborators in line with Division Strategic Growth Plan. Specific focus on APAC region. Partner with procurement teams to develop and implement the in-region for region contract manufacturing strategy with Key Partners and/or Low-Cost Countries Sites. Partner with cross-functional teams and internal customers for contract manufacturing assessments, \'make vs buy\' studies, auditing & gap analysis and work with suppliers to create improvement/growth plans. Proactively identify supply issues, risks and challenges. Facilitate tradeoff decisions and remove obstacles. Keys to Success: Education University degree in Engineering, Science or Management Sciences or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Experience Required 15+ years of experience in: supplier improvement, supplier management, manufacturing, logistics, development & engineering. Requires proven experience in high-tech industry environment working with complex products and processes. Consistent track record to interact effectively with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams in fast-paced multi-disciplinary matrix environment. Training and implementation experience in supplier auditing and Lean/Six Sigma or similar with validated results. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Excellent (internal) customer and supplier management and relationship building skills. Demonstrates leadership and ability to scope and lead complicated projects from inception to completion. Demonstrates broad supply chain (processes) and manufacturing knowledge Business and Financial Acuity: Understands product cost structure, Cost of Ownership and is experienced in crafting financial cases. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills: ability to build and deliver presentations appropriately scaled to the audience. Confident at interacting with senior management. Strong negotiation skills and proven track record of driving decisions and discussions. Able to find mutually beneficial situations and able to work across language and cultural barriers.
