Responsibilities:
Manage and perform complex research assignments across the downstream industry by utilizing different sources and advanced secondary research techniques.
Conduct in-depth research on geographic segment trends, competitors, industry market trends and issues, and relevant technology topics.
Manage, maintain, and enhance proprietary analytical models and databases currently marketed to OMD clients. Deliver research-based projects and models customized for client needs.
Interpret modeling results for understanding and reasonableness and take corrective action to address any irregularities.
Writing comprehensive reports and maintaining and analyzing short-term forecast models for global supply/demand, refinery turnaround, etc.
Ability to perform data structuring and analysis using Python.
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, and Tableau a plus.
Maintain and monthly update the global storage model using various sources and analyze changes in levels to feed as an input for regional alignment.
Forecast short-term prices using the monthly forecast model, analyze freight and arbitrage relationships and collaborate with regional teams to arrive at the final price forecast.
Working with the team to research and deliberate on the latest changes in the market, align regional stories, and prepare monthly reports and tables to be published for clients
Create sensitivity pricing for quarterly long-term price forecasts
Support lead in creating/maintaining various models to analyze regional benchmark refineries.
The analyst will be involved in supporting thought leadership and writing insight papers on recent market developments and policies.
Support team management to promote the effective use of resources across projects.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with local and regional management.
Support and mentor junior staff to design and deliver work, grow professionally, and meet the strategic growth objectives of the downstream team.
What We\'re Looking For:
Preferably a Chemical Engineering or Energy-related degree required with 5 - 9 years of experience.
Good understanding of refinery processes, global oil, and refined product markets, and overall energy business. Knowledge of petrochemical processes is desired.
Experience in researching complex issues and writing coherent analyses to explain them.
Strong Office 365 application skills including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel (advanced).
Familiarity of working with cloud-based databases/SQL (desired).
Excellent reading and writing skills in international business English, good communication skills, and a natural bent for multi-tasking.
Strong problem-solving and logical reasoning skills - should be able to independently troubleshoot and question data that does not follow logic. Equally, they should be confident to query work to understand and streamline it further.
Ability to demonstrate models and analytical results to key stakeholders.
Self-starter with a proven interest in development issues.
Highly motivated and results orientated.
Strong interpersonal skills, customer focus, and stakeholder relationships.
