We are looking for a talented junior or mid level engineer who can design, implement, and support robust, scalable and high quality solutions related to Advertising Targeting, Identity, Location and Trust & Verification. As a member of the team, you will be helping our Ad platforms to deliver highly accurate and relevant Advertising experience for our consumers and for the web at large.Design and code backend Java applications and services.Emphasis is placed on implementing maintainable, scalable, systems capable of handling billions of requests per day.Analyze business and technical requirements and design solutions that meet those needs.Collaborate with project managers to develop and clarify requirementsWork with Operations Engineers to ensure applications are operations ready and able to be effectively monitored using automated methodsTroubleshoot production issues related to the team\xe2\x80\x99s applications.Effectively manage day-to-day tasks to meet scheduled commitments. Be able to work independently.Collaborate with programmers both on their team and on other teamsSkills and EducationB.S. Computer Science or technical field8+ years of industry experience designing and programming in Java in a Unix/Linux environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills, e.g., the ability to explain the work in plain languageExperience delivering innovative, customer-centric products at high scaleTechnical with a track record of successful delivery as individual contributorExperience with building robust, scalable, distributed servicesExecution experience in fast-paced environments and performance driven cultureExperience with big data technologies, such as Spark, Hadoop, and AirflowKnowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tools and processesStrong programming skills in Java, Python, and ScalaSolid understanding of RDBMS and general database conceptsMust have extensive technical knowledge and experience with distributed systemsMust have strong programming, testing, and troubleshooting skills.Experience in public cloud such as AWS.Yahoo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
