This role is an excellent fit for DevOps engineers who want to own production solutions while getting hands-on with a wide variety of the latest and most remarkable technologies and love to push the boundaries of what cloud infrastructure software and tooling can achieve. We use various cloud platforms and technologies such as Ansible, Jenkins, AWS, Observabilities tools, etc. Our product currently runs on a Microsoft-related technology stack (Windows Server, Microsoft SQL), and we are in the progress of modernizing the tech stack. We have an extensive catalogue of internal and external training content you can leverage if you need to brush up on something you know or learn something new. What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for The Assist Ops team drives the delivery and reliability of our global SaaS offering\'s core applications, services, and infrastructure. We are often involved in the leading-edge use cases of the SaaS transformation of the product and work towards automated solutions for both infrastructure and the application. We need someone with a DevOps mindset for solving problems and maintaining a high degree of ownership as we continue our automation journey into Software-Defined datacenters for hosting our SaaS products. You are also expected to write infrastructure/DevOps-related code, scripts, design, and drive technical decisions. You will be expected to learn and own DevOps initiatives and champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Success in the Role: What performance goals will you work toward completing over the first 6-12 months You will develop a solid understanding of the SaaS offering. This would be demonstrated by your understanding of the full infrastructure and automation stack and delivering features around the automation and SDDC objectives. You will need to produce code to automate and scale the solutions as we add new features and integrations into our existing solutions and be part of the modernization migration. You will also be expected to maintain the code and integrate it into the on-call rotation of the team for supporting the automation jobs that run in production data centers, preferably during US hours You will be expected to work closely with our other Engineering and Services teams on projects and DevOps initiatives around Automation and Site Reliability What type of work will you be doing What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing regularly You will be expected to come with 8+ Years of industry experience in Development, Site Reliability, or a comparable Cloud Engineering position You will implement and improve the process around Dev and IT Ops. You will be expected to become familiar with knowledge around CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation tooling like Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes etc. Most of your time would be spent on observability to target above and beyond the committed external and internal SLAs, delivering workstreams, and meeting compliance requirements like ISO, SOC, PCI etc. The candidate should work based out of Chennai with the Hybrid work option. They should also be open to working night shifts as part of on call support. You will also be expected to have some experience with on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure and services such as Windows Server, Linux, MS SQL Server and network software like BIG-IP, Load balancers, Route53, Firewalls etc. Collaborate in-person or on Slack and Zoom with other R&D teams or Services teams on projects and integrations for our Cloud Services. Proficiency at writing code to automate infrastructure, improve system reliability and optimize continuous delivery pipelines. Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD processes for enterprise SaaS applications using tools like Git, Bamboo, Jenkins etc. Expertise in Linux System Admin and Bash Scripting Hands-on experience in building and administering VMs and Containers using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Solid understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting Familiarity with logging and monitoring technologies such as Nagios, Splunk, Syslog, Log Insight, Logz.io etc. Familiarity with NoSQL systems (ELK, MongoDB etc.) What is the leadership like for this role What is the structure and culture of the team like The hiring manager for this role is A.Kadhar Khan, Manager, Operations. His experience is quite varied and most recently includes managing the Assist Ops SaaS delivery team that has built and maintains numerous production service delivery jobs, CI/CD pipelines, etc. Kadhar Khan\'s management philosophy is to build a team culture that encourages everyone to be independent thinkers. He is there to ensure the team works on appropriate business priorities and has everything at their disposal to think out of the box and execute their ideas. The Ops team is currently made up of 3 engineers and continues to grow! The team is working from India (Chennai). The team often works with other Services and R&D teams & Individuals on cross-team projects and across geographies & time zones, so you will need to manage expectations for your availability and delivery times with your teammates and the various other teams you will be working.
