The product portfolio consists of injectable products of varying complexity in various container-closure systems.This position provides support to the Analytical Characterization Team in technical and operational activities like Trace analysis (Extractable & Leachables; Nitrosamines) using Hyphenated Advanced Analytical Techniques such as ICP-MS/OES, GC-MS and LC-MS/MS-MS. The successful candidate will need to possess sound theoretical knowledge of modern analytical techniques, updated knowledge of current Pharma industry guidance, excitement and energy for new product development impacting patients world-wide, and good written & verbal communication skills. A good learning agility will be necessary to innovatively face the challenges encountered during R&D work. Preferred skills include a hands-on experience in handling GC/MS or LC/MS and structural elucidation skills. The incumbent will perform other duties as assigned.Define, organize, plan and execute analytical development and characterization activities of pharmaceutical injectables in compliance with current international/regional/national regulations and guidance (cGLP, cGMP, GDP) with the support of senior colleagues, own team members, and global cross-functional teams.Work with and interpret data of advanced instrumentation techniques, hyphenated techniques, and other analytical techniques.Conduct failure analysis and root cause analysis in new product development and sustaining product projects within specified timelines, under supervision.Engage in science-based troubleshooting of the analytical issues and product development challenges.Provide proposals for product development related innovations, analytical method innovations, and product/process improvement initiatives in collaboration with senior scientists.Ensure good cross-functional communication and collaboration to drive allotted activities to timely completion.Preparation of scientific reports, proposals, and presentationsPerform the calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.Follow Baxters Quality Manual, SOPs, and Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) guidelines in day-to-day activities, to ensure proactive compliance and continuous improvement.QualificationsA Fresher having a Masters in Pharmacy or Masters in Science with specialization in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical AnalysisOr, an equivalent Masters degree with an emphasis on Organic Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Sciences.SkillsBasic understanding (working principles, instrumentation, potential applications) of hyphenated techniques (LC-MS, GC-MS), spectroscopic techniques like (FTIR, UV, Raman, NMR, ICP-OES, AAS etc), Chromatographic techniques (HPLC/GC), and ability to interpret the results will be an added advantage.Working knowledge of basic chemistry principles and structure elucidation techniques, especially MS interpretation.Basic understanding of reaction chemistry to derive degradation/reaction pathways that explain the presence of observed impurities.Basic understanding of QSAR principles and tools that help predict the toxicities of impurities observed.Ability to apply scientific concepts during analytical development or scientific troubleshooting.Good written and verbal communication skills.Knowledgeable in the application of statistical approaches.Good command on computer-based software applications, like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability and agility in grasping new scientific concepts.Should have self-initiative and be responsible in completion of assigned activities within time-frame.Ready to engage in collaborative work.A Career That MattersBaxters employees are united in a mission to save and sustain lives.
