BU / Function Description


TE Energy offers a wide range of reliable and cost-effective products for the electrical power industry. Our position as a leading supplier of electrical components enables us to design next-generation products. For over 60 years, we have worked closely with our customers around the globe to develop innovative solutions to ever-changing challenges, known under names such as Axicom, Bowthorpe EMP, Crompton Instruments, Raychem and Simel.




Role Objective:


Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Energy BU's engineering team in Bangalore, contributing to the overall growth strategy and aligning with business objectives. Lead a team of approximately 50 people with either solid or dotted line reporting.


Responsibilites:

• Lead and manage the complete product development lifecycle, including voice of customer, ideation, design conceptualization, creation of product specifications, 3D design, prototyping, product testing, product qualification, project execution, and product sustenance till end of life.
• Collaborate with multiple functions and assist in setting project timelines and milestones.
• Develop and implement plans for expansions and coordinate with stakeholders (e.g., vendors and contractors).
• Establish cross-collaboration between teams and communicate strategic directions, vision, and goals.
• Assist in preparation and management of the team's budget.
• Drive regional leadership and contribute to defining a clear technology portfolio.
• Provide leadership for product development and sustaining activities.
• Establish targets for cost-out activities by applying the Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) principles.
• Establish and review business-critical engineering metrics.
• Empower team members to grow and achieve results through development and coaching.
• Support and build the product and technology roadmap in collaboration with affiliates and product management.
• Build future engineering capabilities.
• Model and foster TE core values and behaviors.
Candidate Desired Profiles:

Education/Knowledge:




• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering Is a Must, Master's degree is good to have..
• 12+ years of professional experience in engineering & manufacturing is a must
• Extensive knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements.
• Expertise in developing products for Energy market applications, manufacturing automation, plastic and metal processing, and electro-mechanical design.
• Experience in leading diverse teams and working in global matrix structures.






Critical Experience:


• Proven ability to execute on engineering deliverables and influence teams to deliver successfully.
• Strong customer mindset and ability to deliver quality products and services on time and within cost and profitability objectives.
• Fluent communication skills facilitating collaboration with team members, customers, internal business leaders, and technology leaders.
• Global experience and skilled at working within different cultures.
• DFSS Green Belt, DFSS Black Belt, certifications.
• Experience with CREO 3D modelling, risk assessment methods (FMEA).
